Health tech Solutions Ltd is driven by a belief that technical expertise is at the heart of supporting the safe clinical delivery of healthcare to patients. It is the knowledge, skills and experience of clinical engineers and technicians that are key to ensuring medical equipment and medical gases are safe to use. We work hand-in-hand with engineers to ensure our training solutions and guidance are truly intelligent, appropriate and accessible, so we can always put the patient before the medical equipment.
Dr Scott Brown
Scott has over 30 years’ NHS background in clinical engineering, his most recent senior management role was as the Clinical Engineering Lead for an acute hospital Trust. He is a registered Clinical Scientist through the Health and Care Professions Council with a specialism of Clinical Engineering. A Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist he has extensive experience of clinical engineering, risk management, governance and project management. Scott has published widely in international peer reviewed journals in both the healthcare and veterinary sectors including contributing to three books. He won a National Innovative healthcare thinkers award for his novel risk assessment tool for medical devices which was also a key data collection tool for his PhD.
In 2014 he established Health Tech Solutions Ltd with a focus on delivering consultancy services along with technical and user training around medical equipment and medical gases.
Scott has a wealth of teaching qualifications to support his experience including a Certificate in Education (Cert Ed.), PGDip Ed and Master’s degree in Education.
Training is my passion and what I really enjoy is sharing the knowledge and experience that I have gained during my career. I am keen to build relationships with companies to strengthen our business and recently we have had success expanding into the veterinary sector where I hope to have some influence in creating greater regulation especially around medical gas installations.
Tamsyn Brown
Tamsyn has many years’ experience in the financial sector which means her knowledge and experience around business planning and financial management is a valuable asset to the business.
Tamsyn now works as a senior manager within the NHS and her extensive supports our commitment to expand the business into new sectors.

How much does an online training course cost?
Each course is individually priced. We strive to keep the cost of courses as low as possible. The cost for attending will depend on the duration and level of the course.
How do I pay for an online course?
For individuals’ payment is taken online via Stripe or Paypal. For group bookings please contact us via email at [email protected]
How will I know if my booking has been accepted?
Once payment has been made you will automatically be assigned to the course.
Can I get an invoice for the payment?
Yes, once payment has been taken you can download a pdf invoice.
Can another delegate attend on my behalf?
Bookings are individually assigned to the delegate on payment so cannot be changed.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that individual circumstances may change, and you are unable to attend the course. Our courses do not have a set date that they must be completed by, however some will be time limited. We strive to keep the cost of courses as low as possible.
Will the course be assessed?
All courses are assessed using a multiple-choice question paper.
Will I receive a certificate for completing the course?
On completion of the course and successfully achieving the minimum pass mark in the assessment you will be able to download an electronic certificate.
Are the training courses CPD certified?
Where a course in CPD certified through the CPD Accreditation service this will be detailed in the course description. For CPD certified courses the certificate will bear the logo of the CPD Accreditation service.
Face to Face Training
How to I arrange bespoke Face-to-Face training course?
Please contact us for an initial discussion, email [email protected] It will be extremely helpful if you can have available a list of aims and objectives and details of the delegates existing level of understanding. We will then arrange a follow-up MS Teams call or telephone call to discuss this in detail.
How much will a Face-to-Face training course cost?

We can deliver face-to-face training at your site or another suitable venue if you prefer.

How long would a medical gas pipeline system audit take at my practice?
The time to conduct an audit will depend very much on the size of the practice and complexity of the installation. Typically, the on-site element of the audit would take about one day.
Will I receive a report following an audit?
Yes, following an audit our Authorising Engineer will prepare a report detailing any non-conformities against the standard Hospital Technical Memorandum 02-01. The report may also indicate some recommended actions to address areas of concern.?
What is a Medical Gas Veterinary Authorised Person - AP(V)?
Although this is not a recognised term in the same way as an AP in the NHS for healthcare. A person with responsibilities for the medical gas installations across several sites would benefit from this type of knowledge.
